Stone wall clocks can be an incredible addition to your home. They are beautiful, unique, durable, and they bring a taste of the outdoors into the most domestic of rooms.

Stone wall clocks are generally built from sheets of stone. The stone is quarried from a mountain range, and then cut into giant slabs. These slabs are like giant canvases which Mother Nature went crazy painting brilliant landscapes on. Depending on the kind of stone that is being quarried you can get vibrant reds, yellows, blues, whites, any color in the rainbow, streaking across the face of these massive stones.

The large stones are then cut down into more manageable pieces. Some are cut into mini slabs, which can then be used in large tables or in stone billboards. Many are cut down smaller, to be used by craftsman and manufacturers. However, when these giant natural stones are cut up, the painting that was visible in the larger piece is also cut. This creates hundreds of tiny little natural portraits. Each one of these will be a completely one of a kind item.

Aside from their individual uniqueness, there are also hundreds of mountain ranges in the world, with thousands of different kinds of stone. There’s marble, travertine, quartz, and more, with variations from particular stones to stones. The colors can be almost anything in the rainbow, and the textures range from smooth to rough, with every imaginable middle.

Further, stone wall clocks are durable. Stone is one of the toughest materials in the world ensuring that with proper care this beautiful stone canvas will have lasting power, anywhere it is hung.

However, a word of caution, these clocks do tend to be rather heavy. Therefore you must take care in choosing the right place to hang your wall clock. However the unique beauty of these pieces will make the effort worthwhile
